Undertow

I read an article recently that claims individuals that regularly write blogs, but go on hiatus for a while, typically state in their next entry, "Sorry guys, I haven't updated in a while because I've been so busy!" I can honestly say that being busy is not why I haven't updated in a while. I haven't posted anything because I feel like my life is sort of at a standstill. I'm still working at the parking garage while trying to find a new job. Where are all the jobs at? Seriously?!

So lately it feels as though my life has become merely a string of days and nights. They're held together by working at a job I hate while trying to find one I'll love, and the peaceful bliss that is sleep. However, my mundane routine was mixed up a little yesterday once I left work. I've been borrowing my friend Brandon's Jeep while he's off enjoying Vegas, so I've had a little more freedom to drive around rather than ride the bus everywhere. I headed home last night to get some dinner before going to see a movie with a friend, when luck would have it, I was rear ended. Yeah, in Brandon's car. The damage done to his jeep was minimal, but I can't say the same for the other car. Thankfully nobody was injured, but it still shook me up a little bit.

Poor little bumper :(

wait for it....

wait for it...

wait for it...

BAM!

Not a pretty little BMW anymore...

Also, there is more to conclude my bad day. When I headed back into Boulder later that night to see a movie, I hit and killed a raccoon. The little shit was on highway and I was going about 60 when I hit it. I felt awful for the rest of the night.

Now that I've had an incredibly bad day, I feel Karma should pop up and bring me an extremely good day. Is there an awesome job offer in my future?? Hmmm, I guess I will have to wait and see.

Stuck on You

Today's the day I say goodbye.

My dearest friend Lauren is leaving tomorrow for a job in China. While she may be on the other side of the globe, it does not mean that she will be far from my thoughts. I can't imagine what my life would've been like without her, and I don't want to. She has been there for me through the good and the bad. So for that, I am extremely grateful. I could not ask for a better friend.

Have fun in China cupcake!

One Day More

I know that I've been neglecting to write lately, but I don't really have much going on. I've been applying for a lot of jobs, but I've also been getting rejected for a lot of them. However, I have snagged an interview to work for the city of Boulder. It's not my dream job , but it's a job and I straight up need one...

Speaking of work, I have been picking up a ton of hours at the good ol' crapshack/parking garage and it's been a brutal few weeks. Nobody should be confined to those metal death traps for 40 hours a week. Aside from the money, the only upside is seeing a billion hot air balloons in the morning when I leave my apartment. There's a place somewhere in Gunbarrel that's the launching pad for all of the balloons. I should see if I could bum a ride from them to work. How cool would that be, arriving at work by hot air balloon rather than something boring like the bus.

So I lied, I do have news. My hobag and very good friend Rachael is coming back home this Friday!

For the last year Rachael has been studying abroad in Germany, and I think it's about time that she's coming home! It's been a sad and long year harassing the cat without her. I can't wait to see that goofy face of hers!

The Gravel Road

Finally, after 2 months of sitting on my ass watching tv shows, I have found something a little better to do with my time. I'll give you a hint, it has something to do with the picture above...That's right, I'm learning how to play the piano! I love music and I've always been interested in learning how to play it.

Many moons ago (6th grade), I joined band and since then I've found it necessary to listen to good music every day. Now don't get me wrong, I listen to a lot of awful shit as well, but whatever; you have to listen to the bad stuff in order to understand what the good shit really is,...right?

So throughout middle school and high school I ended up playing the trombone, bass trombone, and baritone, and it was easy to transition between all of them because they all used only the bass clef. However, the fricken piano uses the bass and treble clef, which is really a pain in my ass. I honestly feel like a new music student learning how to play an instrument. It's one of those things that's exciting and annoying because I want to be able to read and play music quickly. Oh well though, I'll just take it one step at a time and see what happens...

Now that I have a new hobby, I will say that I have not been neglecting my old ones. I'm still addicted to television and other things. Oh, and yes, I am actually looking for a job now. I've applied to a few places, and really I'm just looking for anything that I'm qualified for that has nothing to do with fast food. The ability to watch movies and play on the internet at work are great at the parking garage, but they aren't exactly the best things to put on a resume. I think it's time to move on... :(

Cosas que arruinan mi vida:
1. True Blood (way better than that Twilight crap, way better)
2. Breaking Bad
3. Eating more fudgesicles
4. Playing Tetris...BEST GAME EVER!!
5. Still Harassing the Cat <---- This will never end as long as she is alive...

Ballerina

I really don't have anything relevant to write about because my life is being dominated by silly addictions. Yes, I should still be looking for a job, but I'll worry about that later. I obviously have much better things to do with my time...

Things ruining my life (in a good way):
1. Bones (it's quite the awful guilty pleasure)
2. Breaking Bad
3. Devouring boxes and boxes of fudgesicles
4. Coke; the soda, not the drug
5. Reading 3 books at once. The Radix, Journey to the End of the Night, and 1984
6. Kickin' some wii tennis and bowling ass. That's right, I'm a pro.
7. Oh, and I love playing real tennis too!
8. Harassing the cat.

Once I get out of this lazy phase (insert laugh) I'm sure I'll become a little more productive. Until then, I'm off to chase the cat!

The Ladder

Summer is the season for many things. One of my favorite activities to do when school isn't in session is to read for fun! Today I went to my very first book signing, and I've gotta say, it was pretty sweet. The author happens to be my former psychology professor, Dr. Brett King, and he recently published his first novel, The Radix! Intro to psychology is one of my most memorable classes at CU and from what I can tell about Brett King's personality, this book is going to be an awesome read. So I'll do King a favor: get your ass out there and buy his book!

Static Waves

My room in August '07

It's official; I'm no longer a homeless crumbum!
So after a few months of talk and debate between myself and the roomies, we have decided to remain in our apartment! However, that decision came after we signed something saying that we were going to move out and Meadow Creek had already rented our apartment to someone else. Things became a little crazy when we realized that there was a real possibility of having nowhere to live once our lease is up next month, but everything managed to work itself out. We are now in the process of applying again to live in our current residence of 3 years, and the new people agreed to move into a different apartment.

Ahh, so now that the living situation is figured out for at least the next year, I still have the daunting task of finding a real job. Let me just say, "NOOOOOO, I don't want to!!" Do I want money and real benefits? Hellz yeah! Do I actually want to work?...I think you know the answer. I have no idea what I really want to be doing for a living, but I've narrowed it down to something in the government. Eh, I'll think more about it once I actually start a job hunt for realz.

Instead of looking for employment of sorts, I've been doing what I do best; playing on the web! I'm still working in the crap shacks/watching youtube videos/watching shit on netflix, so that means I'm very unproductive...I guess I'm still trying to cling to my college life, lol.
